Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes. Every engineer who works on gas at Macara Heating is Gas Safe registered. Gas Safe registration is a legal requirement in the UK for anyone installing, servicing, or repairing gas appliances — it replaced the old CORGI scheme back in 2009 and it's the only official register for gas engineers. Our Gas Safe Register number is 953527.

When we install a new boiler we notify Gas Safe on your behalf, register the installation with the manufacturer so your warranty is valid, and give you the paperwork confirming everything was done properly.

We're also LPG certified. That means we can work on properties running on LPG instead of mains gas, which is common in rural parts of the Lothians and the Scottish Borders. Not every plumber can do LPG work — it needs separate qualifications on top of the standard gas ticket.

You can check any gas engineer on the Gas Safe Register using number 953527. Always ask to see the ID card before anyone touches your boiler — it's your best protection against rogue traders.
